Family Fun in Niagara Falls
Being a tour guide in Niagara Falls, I know all the fun places for the kids to enjoy. Bring the entire family and experience all the best attractions that are kid friendly!
Niagara City Cruises: Known as “The Maid of the Mist” in the US, the Niagara City Cruise Hornblower Boat is the Canadian version of the catamaran boat that travels to the base of the falls. It is iconic and epic! It’s always a thrill! Kids and adults alike enjoy this exhilarating ride. This boat takes you as close as you can get to the falls, through the mist. Be prepared to get wet! You will love your family photos as you are wearing your iconic red ponchos and beside the most beautiful waterfalls in Canada or possibly the world. You may even see a rainbow! To get tickets, buy online and reserve a time. This is the biggest attraction at The Falls so it gets busy!

Skywheel– Standing 175 ft in the air, this 42 gondola Ferris wheel was built in 2006, at a cost of 10 million dollars. It features temperature controlled cabins for groups up to 8. The wheel makes 4 rotations. It gives you a great lay of the land and a great vantage point to see the falls from afar. Kids will love it!

Clifton Hill Fun Pass:The best bang for your buck with kids, might be the Clifton Hill Fun Pass. Available onsite, or cheaper at a local Costco, the passes allow entry to 6 Clifton Hill attractions:
- Niagara Skywheel
- Dinosaur Golf or Wizard’s Golf
- Zombie Attack 6D Theatre Ride
- Movieland Wax Museum
- Toy Store 4D Ride or Carnival Chaos Ride
- Ghost Blasters Dark Ride
With all these activities, this is sure to keep the kids busy and it’s great family time together.
Butterfly Conservatory: Who doesn’t love a butterfly, right?! Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory houses over 2000 butterflies in its tropical atrium with wandering paths. Everyone in the family will be squealing with delight when a butterfly lands on your shoulder. There are over 40 different species of butterflies. Let your kids learn how delicate these creatures are and see for themselves, the life cycle of the butterfly. They may get the chance to see all 4 stages including Butterflies emerging from the Pupa. It’s a beautiful, tropical backdrop! It feels like you are in the Rain Forest. Your family photos will be amazing!

Bird Kingdom
I admit, I went to Bird Kingdom for the first time this year! I loved it so much I took my son there weeks later. The building is ancient. OK maybe not ancient, but it’s got some history. The building used to be. When you enter, you first go through a room with historical photos of Annie Taylor, the first person to go over the falls and Charles Blondin, who crossed the Niagara Gorge on a tightrope over 300 times in the mid 1800s and many others. Then you go into various rooms with a variety of different birds flying around. The Macaws are a highlight as they talk to the guests. The kids will love that! Then you eventually enter a large glass atrium. It feels tropical and grand. There is an opportunity to feed birds in this area. You purchase the food and have a one on one feeding session. Another great photo opportunity for you and the family.
